The Centre for Microscopy at the University of the Free State, together with JEOL, will unveil the JEOL F200 HRTEM instrument during a two-day microscopy conference on the Bloemfontein Campus.
The JEOL F200 HRTEM is a powerful instrument used by researchers to gain direct imaging of the atomic structure of samples. The instrument is part of a R65 million project that promotes research in the fields of chemistry, physics, microbiology, geology, plant sciences, zoology, and cardiothoracic surgery at the university.
Speakers during the two-day conference will include Prof Francis Petersen, UFS Rector and Vice-Chancellor; Dr Sarah Harper, Regional Sales and Applications Manager at JEOL UK; Prof Danie Vermeulen, Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences; and Prof Roland Fleck from King’s College London, among others.
